ANARC-Asimov NIT Agartala Robotics Club

The concept and creation of autonomously operating machines dates back a long time, but credible research into the functionality & potential uses of robots did not grow substantially until the 20th century. And today, robotics is a rapidly growing field, as we continue to research, design and build new robots that serve various practical purposes.

Started by two of then third year students of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Hari Om Singh and Rajeev Singh as tutorial classes for robotics in January 5, 2010, with 48 members. The NIT Agartala robotics club is dedicated to encourage and empower the budding potential of students by providing them guidance on everything from hardware to electronics, parts fabrication to programming. Its primary objective is to foster the scientific temper among its members and collectively achieve success in their long stride ahead. Students have opportunities to do computer-aided design, fabrication, software, and publication work while being mentored by parents, engineers, and educators

The club members have tried to promote innovation and make things easy by making complex things. The members have worked on the cutting edge projects some of which has been showcased in the first newsletter of ANARC. The club is leaving no corner unturned to let the club members work freely, achieve the motto of the club and realize the vision that the founders of the club had. ANARC assists its member in every possible way to achieve what they try to do in the field of robotics through guidance. The club under the guidance of their faculty advisor Suman Deb sir, offers certified courses in Basic Robotics & Advanced Robotics, certified projects, summer & winter internship.

Every year, the club organises events like the SOAR (Student Orientation And Representation) and Tech-Tour, to give an insight to the students about the projects done by the members of the robotics club & also provide them a platform to showcase their skills in the field of robotics.

This year, for the first time, Team ANARC participated in the ROBOCON event which was held from 1st March to 3rd March, 2018 in MIT, Pune & secured an All India Rank of 58 among the 109 participating teams. Also the team secured it’s rank in top 5 among the participating NIT’s & IIT’s team.
